Hailing from its namesake region in France, these famous melons are small with light green skin. The flesh is rich orange, sweet and fragrant.
Growing melons in the tropics generally requires experienced care. Although they can grow well in heat and humidity, the time taken to fruit (especially for larger fruits) leaves the plants moreåÊsusceptible to plant diseases than the shorter harvesting cycles of leafy vegetables. Fruiting plants also require much more nutrients and water (especially when fruiting) than non-fruiting plants.
